Dear Falcon Parents/Guardians:
I am excited to invite you to our annual Back To School Night program scheduled for Thursday, September October 1st, 2026. This program will give you an opportunity to walk a day in your student’s shoes while you follow their schedule and get to see the biggest strength of Oakcrest High School - our incredible staff. Each teacher is preparing something a little different than what you might be used to. Come prepared to learn about more than just the course syllabus or classroom rules and expectations.
Back to School Night begins promptly at 6:30 pm. Please allow yourself enough time to park and get to your student’s first period class before 6:30. Here is a map of the building to help you find your way. We’ll also have a few opportunities for you to get technology help, meet our Child Study Team and learn about the Special Education Advisory Group, learn about ESEA and opportunities to contribute to the school, and meet the Teen Center team before and during the evening’s schedule. If you are interested, please arrive by 6:00 pm to take advantage of these opportunities. There is more information below.
You will need a copy of your student’s schedule for the evening. In order to get a copy of your student’s schedule, you’ll need to utilize Parent Access. If you haven’t already done so, you can sign up for Parent Access by going to www.oakcrest.net and selecting “Genesis Parent Portal” under the “Parents” tab at the top of the page. You will receive an email with your password within two school days, so please do so ASAP. If you have questions or difficulty, please email parentaccess@gehrhsd.net.
Finally, while we will have National Honor Society students throughout the building to help parents find classrooms, there is no baby-sitting service during Back to School Night. We kindly ask that all school aged children remain at home for the evening.
Looking forward to seeing everyone next Thursday and showing parents a good time at Oakcrest!
Sincerely,
Michael Manning
Principal, Oakcrest High School
