The Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District
Solar Referendum
From Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District President John R. Houck, Sr.:
On behalf of the Board of Education of the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District, I would like to extend our sincere appreciation for your support in securing the positive outcome of the December 9 Referendum for the installation of solar panels at Absegami High School.
In its continuing efforts to lower costs and meet the energy needs of its schools, this project is a step in the right direction. Solar energy is the most abundant energy resource in the world, and its use offers huge potential for natural resource and climate protection and for the expansion of renewable energies on the road to a future-oriented energy supply.
Your vote also sends a positive message to our students on the importance of energy conservation.
As leaders of tomorrow, they must understand the important role they play in creating a sustainable future and create the steps needed to achieve the vision.
Thank you again for your support and your part in creating a better environment for everyone.

NJ FamilyCare is a federal and state funded health insurance program created to help New Jersey's uninsured children and certain low-income parents and guardians to have affordable health coverage. It is not a welfare program. NJ FamilyCare is for families who do not have available or affordable employer insurance, and cannot afford to pay the high cost of private health insurance.

District and keep you informed about our activities
and accomplishments.
We are a grade 9 through
12 regional high school district in Atlantic County,
NJ, serving the constituent districts of Galloway Township,
Hamilton Township, Mullica Township and Egg Harbor City,
together with the sending districts of the City of Port
Republic and Washington Township (Burlington County). |
|
Students from Hamilton Township, Mullica Township, the City
of Port Republic and Washington Township attend the Oakcrest
High School located in Hamilton Township; students from Galloway
Township and Egg Harbor City attend the Absegami High School
located in Galloway Township. We operate an Alternative Education
Program in the Duberson School located in Mays Landing.
We are proud of the educational,
sporting and extra-curricular programs offered in our schools.
Our students are our future; the board of education, administration,
faculty and staff work together to provide an educational
experience designed to challenge our students and prepare
them to become productive adults.
The support of our local
communities is very important. We encourage you to attend
our public meetings and voice your opinions about our educational
programs and other activities. The Board of Education meets
the first and second Mondays of each month; the first Monday
at Absegami High School and the second Monday at Oakcrest
High School. Our sporting events, plays and musical programs
are open to the public and we welcome your attendance to support
our students.
The Board Of Education, Superintendent
and School Administrators are all working together to ensure
the programs we offer our students are practical and relevant
to their development and growth; we are making thoughtful
use of emerging technologies; major construction projects
have been completed at both schools adding to and improving
our facilities.
We are optimistic about the
future of education in our district and invite you to join
us as we work to educate our children.
